Amazon Pay Later GUI Guidelines

Overview

These guidelines define the visual and interaction standards for Amazon Pay Later (APL) screens across merchant integrations. The goal is to ensure a consistent, compliant, and frictionless experience for customers across all integrated platforms (applicable for Web, Android, and iOS).

  1. Display Amazon Pay Later in the Pay Later Section

Merchants must display the Amazon Pay Later option within the Pay Later section of their checkout UI, along with a "Link Account" button. Tapping this button initiates the account linking journey for the customer.

Key Fact Statement must be rendered as a clickable hyperlink. Upon clicking, merchants must open the Key Fact Statement in a WebView or Chrome Tab (CCT) or Safari View Controller (SVC) within the app.

  4. Display Ineligibility

Once the customer successfully links their Amazon Pay Later account, if the eligibility check fails, the payment options screen must display Amazon Pay Later as ineligible, along with the specific ineligibility reason returned in the Instrument API response, so that the customer understands why Amazon Pay Later is unavailable. The customer must not be allowed to make a payment using this method.
